O BRT Norte-Sul de Goiânia começará a operar no dia 31 de agosto, após uma série de adiamentos.
O sistema contará com cinco linhas exclusivas que atravessam a cidade em um corredor de 29,6 km, conectando o Terminal Veiga Jardim, em Aparecida de Goiânia, ao Parque Atheneu.
O BRT promete reduzir o tempo de deslocamento e oferecer mais conforto, com uma frota de 60 veículos, incluindo dez elétricos, todos equipados com ar-condicionado e Wi-Fi.
A operação das linhas foi estrategicamente planejada para cobrir as áreas de maior demanda e oferecer frequências de serviço otimizadas nos horários de pico, garantindo um ganho de tempo de viagem entre 30% e 40% em comparação ao transporte convencional.
A expectativa é de que o sistema atenda a cerca de 1,2 milhão de viagens por mês.
O projeto, iniciado em 2015, enfrentou várias paralisações, mas agora representa a maior intervenção de mobilidade urbana da história de Goiânia, sem reajuste nas tarifas.
